The AMMO-nymous Plays: WeHo!
in 2026 Ammunition Theatre Company produced a free, community reading series, AMMO-nymous Plays: WeHo. This interactive West Hollywood event invited audiences to mingle with community and experience a spontaneous night of theatre as AMMO company members cold-read a never-before-heard play by a local playwright from an underrepresented community. The catch? No one knew what play would be read until it was pulled from a hat in front of the audience, keeping the night playful, unpredictable, and alive.
In the hat were six plays: The Lonely Ape by AMMO company member Joy Gregory, Urban Scholars by Alison Minami, The Minister of Loneliness by Julia Lederer, Symbiotic by Baylee Shlichtman, Reliable Narrators by Katherine Vondy, and Bread and Circus by Marlow Wyatt. Audiences got a front-row seat to the raw magic of new play development with AMMO-nymous Plays: WeHo! Part theatre, part salon, part shared ritual.
The community evenings were held at Fiesta Cantina in West Hollywood on: Thursdays April 30, May 14, and May 28.
AMMO-nymous Plays: WEHO was supported in part by an arts grant from the City of West Hollywood.
