New Play Reading Series Coming to West Hollywood in 2026
Ammunition Reading of “Sick Girl or Don’t Hate Me Cuz I’m Pretty” by Lina Patel
AMMO is excited to announce our brand-new community reading series, AMMO-nymous Plays: WeHo. This interactive event sponsored by the West Hollywood Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission invites audiences to mingle with community and experience a spontaneous night of theatre as AMMO company members cold-read a never-before-heard play by a local playwright from an underrepresented community (queer, female, disabled, or person of color.) The catch? No one knows what play will be read until it's pulled from a hat in front of the audience, keeping the night playful, unpredictable, and alive.
The goal is simple: to create space for underrepresented playwrights to hear their work out loud, surrounded by a supportive community, and to offer Los Angeles audiences a front-row seat to the raw magic of a new play. It’s part theatre, part salon, part shared ritual.
With AMMO-nymous Plays: WeHo, we hope to nurture a local culture of creativity, spontaneity, and nourishment. We believe great art happens not only in theatres but wherever people come together with open minds and open hearts.
